Mr. Ang Keong Lan（洪恭兰先生）was borne in 1920 China Fujian Nan An Yingdu (中国福建南安英都). He was the Chairman of school management board for the longest period and also the founder and the first chairman of the Foundation-Pei Hwa Foundation Ltd.
He was first educated in private academy. He became member of management board of the School in 1946 when he was young. Taking into account the period when he was chairman of the Foundation, he served the community for almost 50 years and therefore witnessed the development of the School.
He was an entrepreneur and first a trader of cereal products. Keeping abreast with times, his businesses had been multi-faceted including banking, finance, real estate, plantation, kitchen oil, beer, hotel accommodation and import and export of cereal products covering a numerous markets. He was board chairman and managing directors of tens of companies.
He was the chairman of the management board of the school for almost 40 years, devoting in full to the school affairs in terms of time, effort and financial support and cooperating with other board members and school principals and teachers. His overall devotion made the school that developed to the stage of having 2-storey buildings with steel structure. It was a modern and well structure primary school in Yio Chu Kang area then. His contributions are pronounced and he has been a respected pioneer.
洪先Mr. Ang Keong Lan did well in business and also very enthusiastic toward education. He had been honorary chairman of 中华女中，新民中学，光洋中学，培道中学，新加坡女子职业中学，中正中学，南洋初级学院and公立聚英学校。He was a director of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry for a number of years. He held prominent positions in various Chinese temples, Buddhist monastery and Chinese clans and societies. He was a grassroots leader and had been chairmen of Jalan Kayu Constituency Citizens’ Consultative Committee for many years. In 1970s, he was conferred with public service medal-BBM (L) from President of Singapore and DPMJ from Johor Sultan then in 1980. He devoted a great contribution toward community and society. Mr. Ang Keong Lan passed away in 2000.
