Pei Hwa Senior Citizen's Day

This is the annual event of lunch gathering about two weeks before Lunar New Year to distribute red packets (ang pow) to seniors, a gesture of care and appreciation of the elders. Each year, more than four hundred of seniors gather at multi-purpose hall of Pei Hwa Secondary School to watch entertaining programs while taking lunch and more than five hundred of them receive red packets. The purpose of the event is to allow the pupils to show respect to the seniors and seniors who sense the warmth from the society. The seniors are from Asian Women’s Welfare Association and Lions Befrienders Service Association in Ang Mo Kio and various senior activity centres of community clubs in Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang West and Sengkang East.

Presentation Ceremony of Scholarship and Bursary Awards

In April every year, about three hundred students from primary schools to polytechnic in Ang Mo Kio estates and adjacent areas, as well as children of members of Pei Hwa Alumni and alumnus of PHSS-Pei Hwa Secondary School gather at PHSS (at Yio Chu Kang Secondary School in the initial years) to receive the awards. The purpose of the awards is to encourage the pupils to do better in their study and encourage them to do more for the community and society.
